| On the 1st of March 1997 Chateau St. Gerlach opened its gates to guests for the first time. The grand sprawling chateau neighboring Maastricht and on the banks of the river Geul, includes a convent granary, church and cloisters. The whole estate complex is surrounded by a wonderfully wild 400-hectare nature reserve. The accommodation comprises rooms and apartments furnished to a very high standard of comfort and fitted with all modern facilities. There are 58 luxurious hotel rooms in the courtyard building, 13 apartments in the convent and 26 in the granary. The pool and sauna are located in the South wing, while the cloister houses the estates museum. The courtyard features terraces, gardens, a bar and a large conservatory. Within the castle itself you will find the a la carte restaurant, bistro and a large terrace overlooking the beautiful castle grounds and gardens. |

| By car from Amsterdam and Eindhoven: Follow the motorway A2 to Maastricht, exit 51 Meersen-Valkenburg-Bunde. At the end of the exit, at the roundabout turn left Meersen-Valkenburg). At the second roundabout turn right towards Meersen Valkenburg. At the next roundabout you take the 2nd street direction Valkenburg-Heerlen, across the bridge you tun left to the A79 to Valkenburg-Heerlen. At the motorway take exit 2 Meersen-Houthem, at the end of the sliproad turn left and then right towards Houthem. After approx.1.5 km you will see the entrance of Chateau St.Gerlach on your right side. |
