Area Attractions: Bolghatty Island: Dutch built Bolghatty palace in 1744 at this island surrounded by backwaters. For the people of Kochi, Bolghatty island is an ideal place to unwind. Now, the palace is functioning as a heritage hotel with a golf course and honeymoon cottages. Bolghatty Island is 2 kms away from the hotel. Chinese Fishing Nets: Though the Chinese nets are historic monuments, people use it for new versions for fishing. Chinese fishing nets are a fascinating sight at the entrance of Cochin harbour. Cochin is 2 Kms away from the hotel. Dutch Palace: The Portuguese built it in AD 1555 and presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi. In 1663, Dutch renovated the palace. This palace is famous for the murals portraying scenes from epics Ramayana, Mahabharatha and some of the Hindu legends . The palace also features Dutch maps of old Kochi, royal palanquins, coronation robes of former maharajas of Kochi and contemporary pieces of furniture. Dutch Palace is 20 Km from the hotel. Willingdon Island: This is a manmade island named after Lord Willingdon a former British Viceroy to india. Cochin Harbour, Southern Naval Command, Best hotels in the city, Port Trust head quarters, major trading centers etc. are situated at Willingdon Island. Willingdon Island is 12 kms away from the hotel. Athirapally At the entrance to the Sholayar ranges, this 80-foot waterfall is a popular picnic spot. The falls are very popular with tourists.
